A Wet and Wild Climb up Mt. Polis
Excited for the adventure that lay ahead to climb Mt. Polis with a group of friends. We had been planning this for weeks, and the day had finally arrived.
The path was steep, but we were all in high spirits, laughing and chatting as we made our way up. But as we climbed higher, the weather started to change. Dark clouds rolled in, and the wind started to pick up. We pushed on, determined to reach the summit, but it was getting harder and harder to keep going.
Eventually, the rain started to pour, drenching us to the bone. It was cold and miserable, but we kept going, driven by the desire to reach the top.
The weather got worse. The wind was howling, It was too dangerous to continue, and we had to admit defeat. We wouldn’t make it to Mt. Polis, our intended destination. We reached a barangay, and the locals welcomed us with open arms. They gave us a place to stay and we spent the night inside the local church
Although we didn’t reach our original goal, we had an amazing time hiking. We laughed and joked and telling stories.
The next day, as we made our way back down the mountain, we felt a sense of accomplishment. We may not have reached the summit, but we had pushed ourselves to our limits. We had learned the importance of perseverance and the value of good company.
And who knows, maybe someday we’ll return to Mt. Polis, with clear skies and a full heart, ready to take on the challenge once more.
